My favorite Chocolate Fudge Brownies Recipe

Ok so this is completely falling out of my usual “let’s eat healthy things” lifestyle but it is my nieces birthday so I will make an exception. And I honestly believe that eating some sweets once in a while just to enjoy it will help you loosing weight in the long run. Because you won’t feel tempted to binge eat a whole cake once you loose control since you maybe had a small piece a few days ago so the temptation is a bit less. Well, at least that’s what I keep telling myself ;)

My mother gave me a lot of classic recipes when I first started learning to cook and brownies were definitely on the list for me to learn. Since most people love anything chocolate, I have been making them for years and taking them to parties. People always ask for the recipe and I have worked on getting them to taste rich and decadent. One of my kid’s favorite treats when they finish their dinner is my Chocolate Fudge Brownies.


This recipe makes 25 brownies.


  • 6 ounces good quality bittersweet chocolate, roughly chopped
  • 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips


Preheat the oven to 350°F. Set a metal bowl over a pan of lightly simmering water. In the bowl, melt the bittersweet chocolate, the unsweetened chocolate and the butter together, stirring until the mixture has a smooth consistency. Remove the bowl from the heat, and let the mixture cool just to a lukewarm temperature. Stir in both the sugar and the vanilla. Add the eggs, one by one, stirring well after adding each egg. Next stir in the salt and the flour, stirring until the mixture is just combined. Then stir in the chocolate chips. Pour the batter into a buttered and floured baking pan, preferably 9 inch x 13 inch, smoothing out the top layer. Bake the mixture on the middle rack of the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Place the pan on a wire rack, and let it cool completely. Cut it into 25 bars and enjoy!

These brownies don’t require too much effort but deliver on rich chocolaty taste. I promise they will be popular wherever you take them and with whomever you share them.
